Azure Cobalt: Microsoft’s First Custom CPU for the Cloud

ND H200 v5

Introducing Azure NCCv5 VMs

Microsoft introduced the Azure NCCv5 virtual machines (VMs), a new series that incorporates NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPUs. This groundbreaking development marks a major step forward in confidential computing.

The NCCv5 VMs are based on AMD’s 4th Gen EPYC processors with SEV-SNP technology, which, when combined with NVIDIA’s H100 GPUs, provides an unparalleled level of performance and security for sensitive GPU workloads.
